The former Berlin city airport Tempelhof was closed in 2009. Two year later the abandoned airfield was re-open as a public park and in 2014 a public poll voted that it should be left untouched in its current state. The so-called Tempelhofer Feld became a place of freedom and controlled anarchy for many Berliners and tourists. In winter 2015 an emergency shelter for refugees opened in the former airport hangers and Tempelhof became a place for dreams of a better future as well–a true field of dreams.
